Paper
1. Sentence: In this paper we describe a motion synthesis using an optimization-based graph (1st sentence, 3rd paragraph).
2. Problem: Switching between behaviors in a motion graph may require traversal between several nodes. This makes fast changes in behaviors slow or unnatural.
3. Key Idea: Use optimization based ideas to generate links in the motion graph. This allows the user to switch rapidly between different motion graph behaviors, even in between of a motion.
4.a What the paper does: Presents a system where a user controls a characters direction and behavior. Changes are reflected quickly and naturally.
4.b. What it could be used for: Creating more responsive motion graphs with less manual tweaking. These could be used in video games.
