You videos are due on Friday. I haven’t told you how to hand them in, because, well, I don’t know what’s best.
I have created a moodle forum for you to turn things in on.
I recommend that you either:
- try to see if you can attach a whole movie to a moodle posting
- upload it to YouTube or Vimeo and put a link/embedding into the posting
- put the video somewhere else (on the web or public AFS) and say how to get it in the posting
#1 has the problem that I am not sure if it will work.
#2 has the problem that while you can make it “unlisted”, you can’t necessarily prevent the word from seeing it
#3 is a lot less elegant
Anyway, choose one approach. If it doesn’t work, we’ll try another.

Assignment 5 & 6 (really one assignment with two parts) has been posted. Please look it over before class tomorrow (Feb 18th) so we can discuss it.

OK, we’ve made it through the first part of the semester, and gotten through the basics! We’ll switch to the more regular twice a week format.
- Monday, February 18th – Inverse Kinematics – There is a reading due. This was posted a ways back, but you might not have noticed it.
- Wednesday, February 20th – Motion Capture Basics – Again, there is a reading. There’s a good bit, but its quite light.
- Friday, February 22nd – No Lecture! But remember, your Assignment 4 Animations are due.
During this week, I’ll announce the programming assignment.
The following week (25-1st), we’ll start talking about motion processing techniques, and you’ll start working on the programming assignment.

This week, you’ll continue to make pictures and animation using commercial tools, and we’ll wrap up our discussion of foundations.
- Monday, February 11 – The paper “reading” assignment is due. We’ll survey a bunch of recent papers to get a sense of where class is going.
- Wednesday, February 13th – We’ll discuss rotations. There is a reading due.
- Friday, February 15th – Assignment 3 (pictures) are due. We’ll talk about putting rotations together to make human motions.
The following week, we’ll talk about inverse kinematics, motion capture, and you’ll do your Assignment 4 animations.

Whoops – I was wrong in class. The Assignment 3&4 page didn’t actually have the dates on it!
They are due on February 15th and February 22nd respectively. This info was on the syllabus.

Based on the paper titles picked out, I made assignments for Assignment 2. Rather than making specific assignments for each person, you get to pick from a list. Remember, you need to look at 4 papers (and answer the 6 questions) by Monday, February 11th.
