With the motion preliminaries behind us, we can finally move on to talking about blending and graphs. But the biggest thing this week is the motion capture Assignment (assignment 5 and getting reading for assignment 6). Over the course of the week, we can try to develop assignment 6 ideas. Feel free to send me email, or come by office hours to discuss your ideas.
Monday – March4 – We’ll discuss blending and motion graphs. The motion graphs reading (with moodle writing) is due.
Wednesday March 6 – We’ll talk about using blending and graphs to do fancier things. We’ll read more about it later in the semester, but for today your reading assignment s to read about ideas for Assignment 6.
Friday – March 8 – Assignment 5 is due! You’ll need to describe what you’ve done to me, have someone peer-review your system, peer review someone else’s system, and give me your Assignment 6 ideas. Details on what you need to do are here.
The following week, you’ll dive in to Assignment 6, and we’ll shift gears a bit – we’ll transition away from doing motion processing, to consider other aspects of character animation and move on to skinning. We’ll come back to do more advanced motion synthesis later in the course.
