Module 2 Rubric

We’re publicizing the complete rubrics developed for Module 2 assignments to (hopefully) make our grading more transparent, and help you focus your efforts on the course objectives.

For each assignment, we start with 90 and work up and down from there.

Design Exercise 2-2

90: (at least) meets our expectations for A level work on this assignment

+1-4: Bonus points for novel designs, attention to detail, and subjective impression

For each set of 3 questions, we deducted 1 point for each of the following:

  • Not following the assignment as written
  • Not providing reasonable vis for the “data” used
  • Not providing sufficient explanation
  • Not addressing all questions asked in the assignment

Further points were deducted for each question that was not filled out.

Seek and Find; Design Exercise 2-1

90: (at least) meets our expectations for A level work on this assignment

+1-2: Somewhat subjective bonus points

-1-2: Meets our expectations; does not go further.

Content Survey 2

90: (at least) meets our expectations for A level work on this assignment

-1: (Up to 3 times) One section was inaccurate, but in understandable ways (i.e., not addressing some factor of a measurement)

-2: (Up to 3 times) One section showed significant errors, with no elaboration on your reasoning. +1-2: Bonus points awarded for precision, detail, and/or subjective impression
