The Week in Vis: Week 07 (Oct 14-18)
This week will be unusual, as we “catch up” from last week when we made the detour to connect theory and practice. Also, there is no class meeting on Wednesday and no surveys.
- The Week in Vis: Week 07 (Oct 14-18)
- Class: Comparison and Scalability (Mon, 10/14)
- Readings 07: Scalability in Dimensions
- No Class Survey
- No Content Survey
- Class: No Wednesday Lecture
- Discussion 07 (due Wed, Oct 16)
- Seek and Find 07 (due Fri, Oct 18)
- Design Exercise 06 (due Fri Oct 18)
Remainders from last week (10/11): Discussion 06, Seek and Find 06
Some things to be aware of:
- No class meeting on Wednesday, Oct 16.
- No class survey or content survey this week.
- Monday’s lecture will cover last weeks readings Readings 06: Too Much Stuff (Scalability). You should still read this week’s readings, but its less urgent.
- DE06: One Data Set, Four Stories (Census Data Edition) is due on Friday, October 18th. It is a hard deadline.
The reduced schedule is partially because you have the design exercise due, partially as a “mid-semester break”, and partially to “celebrate” that this week is IEEE Vis (the main academic conference for the field).
Because the conference is virtual (it was supposed to be in Tampa), you can attend for a mere $20.
