Syllabus
If you’re looking for the syllabus, you are probably looking for pages on this web site. The “official University syllabus” is a document that is posted in the official places.
I always thought a “syllabus” was a description of the topics covered in class and/or a list of the rules and policies for the class. However, the University defines the syllabus to be a very formal thing that specifies administrative information. It is officially posted in the University’s official system ( AEFIS).
There is pretty much no non-boilerplate content. There is a link to the official University policies, which has various statements about things like academic integrity and the intellectual property of course statements.
But, probably you are looking for something more directly useful, which can probably be found on this course web. Some specific things you might think of as the “syllabus”:
- A Schedule that lists the topics the class will cover, or a calendar of when things are due (see the Canvas Calendar).
- The Learning Goals for the class include not only the “course level outcomes” but more specific things I want students to learn.
- A discussion of the class Policies.
- For an overview of what the course is about consult What Is This Class and Why? or 1 - What Is Visualization and How do We Do It?.
- A discussion of the work of class can be found on Parts of Class.
