Pages

Pages (as opposes to posts) are pages that are general resources for the whole time of the class, rather than time specific announcements. The distinction isn’t perfect. But, posts are things that I expect people to read when they are posted, while pages tend to be things you should read at the beginning of class (or when they come out) and continue to refer to over the course of the semester.

Hopefully, this will be relatively transparent

Requirements (Things you Need for Class)

You will need to have a few things to get set up for the class. This includes the normal “stuff for taking a class online” (audio, video, internet, …) as well as art supplies. You are not required to purchase any Books, but you might want to. However, you will need to be able to participate in synchronous class events ( Audio, Video), Internet and to create designs on paper ( Drawing (Art Supplies), Scanning).

Communications

in Pages

Communications is very important in a class, and even more important in an online class. We will use Canvas, the Course Web and Piazza for written communication and Blackboard Collaborate and Zoom for audio/video. We have a specific policy of what happens where, so hopefully the combination of tools won’t be too confusing.

Books

in Pages

We will refer to a number of books over the course of the semester.

You will not need to purchase any books for this class. The required readings will be provided online. Of course, you might want to buy some of the books if you want to support the authors, read beyond what is required for class, or like owning physical books.
