Reading 10: Layout

by Mike Gleicher on February 25, 2012

Now that we’ve seen what visual variables we have, it’s time to learn how to put them together. There are two readings that will serve as good food for thought:

  • Structuring 2 Dimensional Space – Chapter 3 of Visual Thinking for Design by Colin Ware. (the textbook, available online).
  • Layering and Seperation, Chapter 3 of Envisioning Information by Tufte. (in protected reader beware 14Mb file).

Write something on the Piazza Page that let’s us know you’ve done the reading (preferably some insightful comment on what you’ve learned).
