Alex Smith
Alex is a first-year PhD student at UW-Madison researching computer architecture with Prof. Matt Sinclair.
This is the first time Alex has been a TA for CS559, but has taken computer graphics at an undergraduate level. Alex has also previously been a TA for CS354 (Machine Organization and Design) at UW-Madison and for several embedded systems and digital systems design courses during his undergraduate.
Alex’s main research interests are GPGPU computing, hetereogenous architectures, software/hardware co-design, and high-performancing computing.
Outside of the classroom, Alex enjoys hiking, reading, tinkering with electronics, playing video games and acclimating to Madison’s winters with winter sports.
