Michael Gleicher
Professor Gleicher has been teaching CS559 most years since he joined UW Madison in 1998. He has re-designed the class a few times - most recently in 2019, when the current workbooks were created.
In addition to teaching Computer Graphics, Professor Gleicher teaches the Data Visualization course. In the past, he taught the Computer Games Technologies class, but that class hasn’t been taught in a while.
Right now, Professor Gleicher’s research is in Robotics and Data Visualization. In the past, he has worked on a variety of graphics related topics including virtual reality, animation, and video processing.
Professor Gleicher’s favorite sport is downhill skiing, however, with COVID, he has had to find new hobbies like picking berries. He is also trying to learn to play jazz guitar.
