Box - 05-02-01 - Graphics Park

added some box/leg/head horses to the carousel, made them spin and go up and down. Created the “gravitron”, which uses a slightly changed swing base and adds a rotating ride on the end. The yellow squares are seats for people to ride in. Created the tilt-a-whirl, where cups all go around the base and spin “randomly” on an individual level

I removed the bouncing cube, added another swing, and placed a carousel with horses that move up and down while spinning. I also created a bird that flies in a circular path with flapping wings.

For advanced features, I added a spinning teacups ride and a Ferris wheel. Both use hierarchical motion, where the main structure rotates and the sub-parts move relative to it.

This Graphics Park includes several animated amusement park rides.

Basic setup includes two roundabouts, two swing sets, and a carousel with horses that move up and down as the ride spins.

For advanced credit, I added a Ferris Wheel where 8 colored cabins counter-rotate to stay upright, and a Teacup Ride with three levels of hierarchical spinning — the main platform, sub-platforms, and individual cups all rotate independently at different speeds.

For creative credit, I made a Pirate Ship swing ride. The hull is built with ExtrudeGeometry for a more realistic boat shape. The A-frame support legs are mathematically calculated so their tops meet exactly at the pivot beam. Six passengers sit on the deck. The ship swings with sinusoidal pendulum motion while the flag flutters at a higher frequency, creating two layers of animation.

In this project, I completed both the standard and advanced/creative requirements for the park scene. I removed the bouncing cube and added additional playground elements, including at least one more swing and two carousels. The carousels were enhanced with poles and “horse” objects, and I implemented proper animation so that they spin while the horses move up and down.

For the advanced and creative components, I added multiple rides with hierarchical motion, including a flying chairs ride (rotating top with swinging seats), a Ferris wheel (rotating wheel with cabins that remain upright), and a drop tower ride (a rotating ring that also moves vertically). I also incorporated lighting effects on the rides to enhance the nighttime atmosphere. Additionally, I decorated the park with Easter-themed elements such as eggs, flags, and light arches, making the scene more visually engaging and thematic.

Added a Ferris wheel, a tilt-a-whirl, and a swing carousel with hierarchical animation. The carousel horses move up and down while spinning, and the extra stuffs all have multiple moving parts.

I added

  1. A Ferris Wheel
  2. A Drop Tower

Within this small amusement park, I designed a variety of attractions, including four swing rides, two carousels, a Ferris wheel, a spinning teacup ride, and a space spinner. I distributed these facilities evenly across the park’s various zones; the most technically sophisticated aspect of the project lies in the animation design. The swings sway back and forth; the carousel not only rotates on its axis, but the horses also bob up and down in sync with the motion; and as the Ferris wheel turns, its cabins maintain a constant upright orientation. Additionally, I created a space-themed amusement ride featuring a UFO motif, a bridge with words “Have Fun!”
